Looking to step up into the commercial vehicle sector?

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Parts Advisor to join our busy DAF dealership in Newton Abbot. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with automotive or motor factor parts experience who wants to build a long-term career in the HGV industry.

Full DAF Academy training will be provided, giving you recognised manufacturer qualifications and structured progression within the commercial vehicle sector.

Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.

Salary: £30,000 per annum basic plus overtime

Hours:

• Monday – Friday, covering 8:00am – 6:00pm (40 hours per week)
• Saturday mornings on a rota basis (8:00am – 12:00pm) paid at time and a half
• DAF Aid call-out rota participation (£15 per day standby + £40 per call-out)

Key Responsibilities:

• Supply parts via phone, email and DAF Webshop to trade and fleet customers and to our own workshops at the back counter.
• Deliver excellent customer service at the counter and over the phone.
• Identify parts using manufacturer systems (training provided).
• Handle enquiries efficiently and professionally.
• Support fleet and account customers.
• Assist with stock control, returns and back orders.
• Participate in the DAF Aid out-of-hours parts rota.

You will work across both genuine DAF parts and the TRP all-makes range, supporting a wide variety of commercial vehicles and ensuring customers experience fast, accurate and reliable service.

Ideally, we are looking for:

• Motor factor counter staff.
• Automotive dealership parts advisors.
• Agricultural or plant parts professionals.
• Strong warehouse/parts assistants ready to step up.
• HGV experience is not essential — attitude, customer focus and willingness to learn are.
• Strong customer service skills with a professional, helpful manner.
• A positive “can do” attitude and willingness to go the extra mile.
• Ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced environment.
• Good attention to detail.
• A team-focused approach.
• Full UK driving licence.
